Decision Maker

Cant decide? Let us help! Yes/No decisions or pick from custom options.

About Decide

Simple decision maker for when you cant choose. Get a random Yes or No answer, or enter your own options to pick from randomly. Track decision history.

Small decisions consume disproportionate energy: where to eat, which task to start, whether to send the message. This tool outsources the choice to a random draw in one of two modes. Yes/No mode answers any question with a fair 50/50 coin flip rendered as a large green Yes or red No. Custom mode lets you type any list of options, one per line, and picks one with equal probability; blank lines are ignored, so messy pasting is fine.

Pressing Decide triggers a one-second thinking animation before the answer locks in, which sounds trivial but matters: the short delay creates a commitment moment that makes the result feel binding rather than instantly re-rollable. Preset lists for food, activities, and weekdays fill the options box with one click when you want a fast demo or a generic everyday choice. The last 20 results are kept in an on-page history, with the five most recent shown below the button, so you can spot when you have been re-rolling until you got the answer you secretly wanted.

A useful trick: if you catch yourself feeling disappointed by the answer, you already know what you actually want, and the tool has done its job either way. Your chosen mode is remembered between visits, while options and history reset each session. Nothing you type is transmitted; the draw happens through your browser's own random number generator.

How to use the Decide
  1. 1

    Pick a mode

Choose Yes/No for a binary answer or Custom Options to enter your own list, one option per line. Blank lines are skipped.

  2. 2

    Press Decide

A one-second animation plays while the answer is drawn, then the result appears in large text: green Yes, red No, or your winning option.

  3. 3

    Review the history

The last 20 decisions are tracked and the five most recent are shown, so repeated re-rolls of the same question stay visible.

Common use cases

Dinner debates

End the nightly where-should-we-eat standoff by listing the candidate restaurants and letting the draw choose one.

Tie-breaking in groups

When a team vote splits evenly between two approaches, enter both and accept the random verdict as the tiebreaker.

Beating decision fatigue

Pick which errand, chore, or backlog task to start first when the order does not really matter.

Gut-check technique

Flip Yes/No on a tough call and notice your reaction to the answer; disappointment reveals your true preference.

Frequently asked questions
Is the result actually random?

Yes/No mode is a true 50/50 split and Custom mode gives every non-empty line an equal chance, both driven by the browser's built-in random number generator. No answer is favored.

Can I weight one option more heavily?

Not with a slider, but there is a workaround: enter the same option on multiple lines. Listing Pizza three times among six total lines gives it a 50 percent chance.

Is my decision history saved?

Only while the page is open. History holds the last 20 results and clears on reload. Your selected mode (Yes/No or Custom) is the one thing remembered between visits.

Do my questions or options leave my device?

No. The options you type, the draw itself, and the history all live in the page's memory on your own computer. No server is involved in producing the answer.

What are the preset buttons for?

Food, Activities, and Weekdays fill the options box with ready-made lists so you can try Custom mode instantly or settle a common everyday choice without typing.
