Watermark Adder

Add text watermarks to images. Customize position, size, color, and opacity.

About Watermark

Add custom text watermarks to your images. Control font size, color, opacity, position, and rotation. Option for tiled watermarks across the entire image.

A watermark is a visible claim of ownership on an image — your name, your site URL, a copyright notice, or a brand mark laid over the photo so anyone who reposts it can't easily remove the attribution. The balance is visibility vs obtrusiveness: too faint and people crop it out or overlook it; too heavy and it ruins the photo for legitimate viewers. The sweet spot is usually 30–50% opacity, placed in a corner or tiled at low density across the image.

This tool adds customizable text watermarks directly to your photos. You control the text, font size, color, opacity, position (corners, center, or tiled across the whole image), and rotation angle. A tiled watermark is harder to remove with simple cropping because it covers the entire image in a repeating pattern — useful for portfolio images, stock photo previews, and proof prints.

The rendering runs in your browser, so watermarked output is generated locally without uploading originals to a third-party watermarking service (which would, ironically, have an unwatermarked copy of your photo on their servers). Common users are photographers sharing portfolio previews, illustrators posting work samples, and content creators who want attribution baked into every shared image.

How to use the Watermark
  1. 1

    Upload your image

Drop in the photo or illustration you want to watermark. The original preview appears immediately.

  2. 2

    Configure the watermark

Type your text, pick font size and color, set opacity (typically 30–50%), and choose placement — corners, center, or a tiled pattern covering the full image.

  3. 3

    Download the watermarked image

The watermark is baked into the exported PNG or JPEG. The original file on your device is untouched.

Common use cases

Photographer portfolio protection

Share sample photos online with your name and URL so repost sites can't easily strip attribution and claim the work.

Stock photo previews

Add a tiled watermark to preview images on your own stock site so they're identifiable but unusable in production without a license.

Client proof prints

Send wedding or portrait proofs with a visible watermark so clients review the work but can't print high-res files before paying.

Social media brand mark

Bake your handle or logo text onto every image you post on Instagram or Twitter so screenshots still carry attribution.

Frequently asked questions
Can watermarks be removed?

Determined attackers with image editing tools or AI inpainting can remove simple corner watermarks. Tiled, semi-transparent watermarks across the full image are much harder to clean up without visible artifacts.

What opacity should I use?

30–50% works for most cases — visible enough to deter reuse, faint enough that the image is still viewable. Go lower (15–25%) for subtle signatures on photography portfolios.

Can I add an image watermark instead of text?

This tool is for text watermarks. For image logos, some versions of the tool accept a PNG with transparency — otherwise, convert your logo to a signature-style text mark first.

Does the watermark affect image quality?

The watermark is composited at full resolution, but saving as JPEG introduces a small compression step. Use PNG output for lossless quality preservation.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. Watermarking runs on a browser canvas. Your original image never leaves your device — which matters because online watermarking services inherently have unwatermarked copies of your work.
