A metronome you can open in a browser tab and start in two clicks. Tempo runs from 40 to 240 BPM, adjustable by dragging the slider, nudging with the -1/+1 and -10/+10 buttons, or jumping straight to one of six classical presets: Largo (50), Adagio (70), Andante (90), Moderato (110), Allegro (140), and Presto (180). Your tempo and time signature are remembered between visits, so reopening the page puts you right back at yesterday's practice settings.
The click is synthesized live with the Web Audio API rather than played from a sound file, which keeps it crisp and latency-free. The downbeat is accented with a higher 1000 Hz tone while the remaining beats click at 800 Hz, so you always hear where the measure starts. Choose 2, 3, 4, or 6 beats per measure to match 2/4 marches, 3/4 waltzes, common time, or 6/4 patterns. A row of beat indicator circles lights up in sync with the audio, with the current beat highlighted and enlarged, giving you a visual reference when practicing quietly or in a loud room.
Because everything is generated on the spot, there is nothing to install, no ads interrupting a practice session mid-phrase, and no account. It works the same on a laptop in a practice room and on a phone propped against a music stand.

How accurate is the timing?
Clicks are scheduled at exact millisecond intervals derived from the BPM, and each tone is synthesized by the Web Audio API at trigger time. For practice purposes the timing is steady; keep the tab in the foreground for best consistency.
Why does the first beat sound different?
The downbeat is intentionally accented: it plays a 1000 Hz tone while the other beats play 800 Hz. The contrast makes the start of each measure obvious, which is the point of choosing a beats-per-measure setting.
What tempo range and time signatures are supported?
Tempo spans 40 to 240 BPM, covering everything from Largo to Presto. You can set 2, 3, 4, or 6 beats per measure, which handles marches, waltzes, common time, and compound-feel 6/4 patterns.
Will my settings still be there tomorrow?
Yes. The BPM and beats-per-measure values are saved in your own browser's local storage and restored when you return. Nothing about your practice sessions is sent off your device or tied to an account.
Can I use it on my phone at rehearsal?
Yes. The page works in mobile browsers, and the audio is generated on the device, so it needs no app install. Tap Start after the page loads; mobile browsers require a tap before they allow sound.
